School Site English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC)

The school site English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) is a voluntary advisory committee made up of parents/guardians that works to advise, review, and assist the school principal and staff in the development of appropriate programs for limited English proficient students.

ELAC members discuss, evaluate, and advocate for improved services for English Learners, assist in the development of the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), make budget recommendations, and create a structure for communication.

District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC)

The DELAC advises the district's Board of Education on programs and services for English learners, including the following tasks:

  • Develop or revise a district master plan of education programs and services for ELs, taking into consideration the Single School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA).
  • Conduct a district-wide needs assessment on a school-by-school basis.
  • Establish district programs, goals, and objectives for programs and services for ELs.
  • Develop a plan to ensure compliance with any applicable teacher and instructional aide requirements.
  • Administer the annual language census.
  • Review and comment on the district's reclassification procedures.
  • Review and comment on the written notifications required to be sent to parents and guardians. 


2024-25 DELAC Meeting Schedule

Meetings are held virtually via Google Meet. All parents/guardians of English learners are encouraged to attend!

Translation/ interpretation will be provided for all meetings.
